My name is Suzanne Brown and I am a post-graduate working toward certification in Elementary Education. I hold a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration and had a career for 7 years before I gave it up to stay home with my two boys. Now that they are both in school, I decided it was time for me to go back to work. I didn't want to return to marketing, so I decided to reinvent myself and go back to school to be a teacher.I was born and raised in western New York and moved to South Carolina for college. While in South Carolina I met my husband, a fellow Yankee, and we moved to Georgia. My children were born in Georgia and after living in the south for 17 years we moved to WV for my husbands work. My family is my passion.
Music is something I enjoy, but not something I am good at. My husband likes to sing and occasionally I will join in. My boys do show an interest in music, so we have bought them play instruments to explore their musical interests. I am curious to see if they want to learn to play my recorder. From this class I hope to gain an understanding of how to incorporate music into my classroom so it is relevant and interesting for my students.

ReplyDeleteI like that you are wanting to further your education even though you already had a career and a family. My mother also went back to school recently and I couldn't be prouder.
I have always wanted to visit South Carolina and even thought about attending school there at one point. Hopefully throughout this semester we can both take something from this class that we can use in our everyday lives, like with your children, and in our future classrooms.
